Not far from Egilsstaðir, along the main route to Seyðisfjörður, is the picturesque Fardagafoss waterfall.

Not far from Egilsstaðir, along the main route to Seyðisfjörður, is the picturesque Fardagafoss waterfall. There is a car park located on the mountainside at Fjardarheiði. From here we can start a 30 minute hike to the falls, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful gorge and views of the surrounding valley. Please note that this is a mountain path, and the last part of the hike requires the help of a chain, which is found in the rock, to descend to the falls. This hike should only be undertaken by hikers with sturdy footwear.
