This small inlet, with its village of the same name, is located in Árneshreppur, the least populated municipality in Iceland.
This small inlet, with its namesake village, is located in Árneshreppur, Iceland's least populated municipality.Largely uninhabited, Norðurfjörður's big draw is Krossneslaug, a large open-air swimming pool on the pebble beach of Krossnes, which offers some of the most memorable scenery you'll see in Iceland. Natural springs provide a continuous source of warm water that feeds the pool. On a good day, you can climb Mount Kalfshamarstindur (646 m) for an excellent view of the northern district of Strandir and Húnafjörður. This will take a good part of the day and good hiking shoes are required.
